KFDW NEWSLETTER
2026 FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER
From the Presidents Desk
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when it feels like the world is burning down around us. We’re emotionally invested — and that hurts. But witnessing both the devastation in Minnesota and the incredible strength of that community as they stand up for one another — even in the face of severe suppression — can rekindle something powerful: the desire to be an American again. I hope you feel that spark too.
KFDW wants YOU to consider running for office. Yes – you.
In our series How Women Win in Kansas, we spotlight current and former elected leaders and bring you honest, real conversations about what it’s really like to run: the challenges, the surprises, and the time-tested lessons every candidate should hear.

If you decide to throw your hat into the ring, let us know! We’re featuring ALL Kansas candidates – both online and in our newsletter – because we want to help promote you. Send us a note and all your social media links!
Not ready to run? You can still make an impact:
- Support a candidate with a donation – the earlier the better
- Make phone calls on their behalf – or do postcards!
- Text your friends and neighbors – hairstylist, bag boy, cashier – tell them all!
- Join Voter2Voter and build connections in your community (Join KFDW’s team or with your own chapter – Team Building coming soon!)

History isn’t made by spectators. It’s made by people who decide to act. Run. Support. Organize. Donate. Call. Text. Show up.
Cassie Woolworth, President
“Do as much as you can, as long as you can, then pass the baton and rest; We will need you tomorrow too!”

BOARD GAME NIGHT in JOCO!
JCDW Fundraiser to put democrats in office across Johnson County.
It’s that time of year, once again, when we gather around a table to laugh, learn, and show off our mad skills. Whether you’re a serious trivia nerd or a casual party gamer, we’ve got you covered with games like Cards Against Humanity, Bezzerwizzer, Cranium, Who’s the G.O.A.T.?, Taboo, and more.

In these troubled times, it’s easy to think you’re all alone; we’ve all felt it, this especially cold winter. Yet games have been bringing people together since time immemorial. If you’re troubled by the current political reality, we’re your people. Let’s get together for some friendly competition, and support local Democrats while we’re at it.
