KFDW NEWSLETTER

2026 JANUARY NEWSLETTER

From the Presidents Desk

We’re rested, focused, and ready for 2026. Taking a page from Jess Piper’s playbook, we’re asking our members to do one thing:

RUN. EVERYWHERE.

If you can’t run, donate what you can—time, energy, money, stamps, rides, or skills. Support your favorite candidate or contribute to KFDW’s Candidate Fund so we can support races across the state.

When we have candidates on the ballot, Democrats turn out—and they vote up and down the ballot. That’s how we win statewide offices and break the supermajority, so they can’t keep overriding the will of the people when we say NO.

RUN EVERYWHERE.

KFDW supports Democratic Reps and Senators and is ready to help. If you’re running (or thinking about it), submit our Endorsement Form so we can support your race.

Texas is showing us the way—Democrats are running even in deep-red districts, because if there’s no competition, Republicans always win.

RUN. EVERYWHERE.

This is how we build the bench.
This is how we protect the future.
This is how we win—cycle after cycle.

So say it loud. Say it often. Live it.

RUN EVERYWHERE.
KFDW has your back.

Cassie Woolworth, President
“Do as much as you can, as long as you can, then pass the baton and rest; We will need you tomorrow too!”

HOW WOMEN WIN IN KANSAS

Kansas Federation of Democratic Women presents “How Women Win in Kansas” – A digital civic engagement program for women thinking about running for office, featuring Kansas women who’ve done it—sharing how they knew they were ready, built campaigns from the ground up, claimed space, and won.

We want women to have clear, honest insight into what running involves – and the space to discover their own readiness to step forward.

Program starts January 20th and continues every 3rd Tuesday thru May.

We’ll post the videos on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/KansasFederationofDemocraticWomen/

SPECIAL THANK YOUs!

Voters Rights Network with WYCO Progressives!

On Saturday, December 26, 2025, members of Wyandotte Progressive Democratic Women volunteered at and attended WyCo and JoCo Democracy Digest and Dine Seminar, which was sponsored by the Voter Rights Network of Wyandotte County.  The event took place at the Olathe Education Center and Brought together a diverse group of community Members and leaders.

WYCO PROGRESSIVES REPRESENT

A panel of legislators from Johnson County led an engaging discussion covering a broad range of important topics. Areas of focus included voting rights, election integrity, redistricting,  immigration, public education, Medicare expansion, and the Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).  The legislators provided valuable perspectives and updates on these issues, fostering a deeper understanding among attendees.

Participants gained a wealth of information during the event.  The insights shared by the panelists equipped attendees with knowledge they could take back to their families and communities, helping to inform and empower others about current legislative priorities and community resources.
