From the Presidents Desk
December. A time to regroup, refresh, and refocus on ourselves and loved ones. The smells of pine, cinnamon and cloves really takes me back. We start in January with our new monthly series, “How Women Win in Kansas” starring all your representatives, past electeds & current elected as well as special guests.
On May 2nd, 2026, KFDW will be at the Topeka Country Club from 9-5 for our Annual Convention. Tickets are $99 and include breakout sessions with fantastic speakers & the luncheon. Special guests include Jeanna Repass and…
And, don’t forget the KDP Democracy Fests – KFDW will also be at ALL the KDP Democracy Fests in 2026 and we hope you will join us.

Program Chair Needed
We are currently looking for Program Chair for KFDW’s board. Please contact Kat Hooley-Lickteig at kat.hooleylickteig@outlook.com if you are interested in Program Chair.
The program chair is responsible for our “How Women Win in Kansas” series, helps with convention (May 2 – Topeka) and assists with the PR/Marketing and performances.

Capital Area Democratic Women (CADW)
CADW meets Wednesday, December 10th and this month we have special guests Sandy Spidel-Neumann (candidate for US Senate), Jennifer Day (candidate for Secretary of State), and Representative Alexis Simmons. Join us at the Celtic Fox 118 SW 8th Ave, Topeka from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm.

Johnson County Democratic Women (JCDW)
We had a magnificent gathering of candidates at our November “Thank you for Running” event. Very merry and bright with a 94% win rate. The losing candidates are staying in the fight was most lost by very few votes – for example Sam Dominguez lost by 24 but she will be running AGAIN.

YOUR VOTE REALLY MATTERS
IT’S TIME TO GET UGLY

In December JCDW is having our Annual UGLY SWEATER party on Thursday, December 4th from 6pm-8pm at The Bar in MISSION KS – Mission has a back room, we’re glamping there with our ugliest sweaters for the holidays. There will be prizes for first, second, and third.
The 3rd Thursday of December is reserved for planning. So come for the Ugly Sweaters and we’ll see you in January. 2026 is going to be…intense.

Reno County Democratic Women
The RCDW women will meet Tuesday, December 9th at 11:30am at the Airport Steakhouse, 1100 Airport Road, in the private meeting room to the north as you enter the restaurant. Please join us to discuss how to make an impact, as a democrat, in rural Kansas.

Saline County Democratic Women (SCDW)
Join Saline County Democratic Women on December 20th at Martinellis Little Italy for our monthly meeting. We’ll discuss this year elections and plan for next years. Candidates are welcome! Feel free to bring literature to pass out.
We meet the 3rd Saturday of every month at 10:45 AM at Martinelli’s located at 158 S Santa Fe, Salina. Hope to see you there!

Sedgwick County Democratic Women (SCDW)
On December 11th, from 6pm-8pm the SCDW will have our monthly meeting at SEIU, 3340 W Douglas Ave, Wichita. Our meeting begins promptly at 6:30pm.
Sedgwick County Democratic Women unites local women of the Democratic Party; to promote the cause of the Democratic Party and to encourage full participation of women in every level of the Democratic Party structure. “When women vote, Democrats win,” because Democrats support the social issues so important to families and communities and healthy societies.

The WyCo Progressive Women support the WE THE PEOPLE Demonstrations: Join us every Saturday from noon to 1:30pm at the Legends. (Village West & Prairie Crossing). This event is sponsored by WYCO Indivisible.
We’ll see you all back in January when we start planning how to talk about the next August election to thwart, Electing Judges.
